For many people, beginning a career as an electrician can be overwhelming. There’s so much you need to know to get started, and so many of the career sites on the internet are poorly organized and filled with confusing bits of advice.
That’s why we built The Electrician Careers Guide website. We wanted to create a resource that details every aspect of the job, lays out a clear plan on how to get started (a blueprint, if you will), and interviews men and women in the field to give you an idea if you’ll like the work.
We’ve structured the site in a way that can take you from having zero knowledge about how to become an electrician, to having a clear idea of the profession. We’ve defined the terms you’ll need to know, outlined the steps you’ll need to take, gathered salary information, and compiled data on each of technical schools and apprentice programs available to you. We’ve created a resource that answers all of your questions—and even answers the questions you didn’t know you had!
There are a few other online guides that help aspiring electricians, and some of them are pretty decent. But we wanted to make an ultimate resource—something that presents you with absolutely all the information you need to make informed decisions about your life and your career.
The electrician field is strong right now—there are over a half a million electricians in the United States—and the need for electricians is, believe it or not, expected to grow over the next twenty years. We’re going to need trained, motivated workers, and those workers are going to need to know how to get started.
We said so on our homepage, but we’d like to repeat it: the work that electricians do is vitally important to our country. Our economy, the daily operation of our industries, and even our way of life are dependent on the work that electricians do. If you want to become an electrician, you’ll be joining a proud tradition of men and women who have contributed to our country and made this place great.
If you have questions on what you need to do to get started, or if you have any insights on how we can make the site better, we’d love to hear from you. Jump over to our “Contact” page and send us an email. We may not get back to you on the same day you write to us, but we answer every email we receive.
Thank you, and all the best to you and your career!
